MUSE Consultancy is led by Michael Ulph, a senior communications and stakeholder engagement specialist with more than 20 years’ experience across infrastructure, energy, environment, and community‑focused projects.

I help organisations communicate clearly, engage meaningfully, and deliver outcomes with confidence.

MUSE means a few things.

It’s a combination of the acronym for Michael Ulph Stakeholder Engagement also the notion of thinking deeply about a subject. This is based on the premise that engagement - in all its forms, should not be entered into without considerable thought, consideration, and experience.

Communications and Engagement need to form trust, be transparent and meaningful. Engagement should always be a dialogue, aiming to improve each project.

Stakeholder risk is very real and can stop, slow, or add considerable expense to your project. Reducing and managing the risk to a project is worth the investment in early planning and appropriate resourcing.

Michael Ulph is a senior communications and stakeholder engagement professional based in Newcastle, NSW. With a background spanning environmental management, marketing, and project delivery, I help organisations build trust, manage risk, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Master of Environmental Management & Sustainability — University of Newcastle

  • Master of Marketing — University of Newcastle

  • Bachelor of Arts (Communication Studies) — University of Newcastle

  • IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation

  • IAP2 Outrage management certificate

  • White Card

  • Baseline Defence clearance
